Vanessa Hudgens takes to the stage just hours after she announces the death of her dad

Yesterday afternoon Vanessa Hudgens made the sad announcement that her dad had died from cancer on Saturday.
However, despite this sad news, the actress showed her strength by going on to say 'Tonight, I do the show in his honor'.
The 27-year-old actress was due star in a lead role of Fox's Grease: Live, a performance of the classic musical shown live on TV.
The show went ahead with Vanessa playing the part of Betty Rizzo, the leader of the infamous Pink Ladies and as you would expect she received praise for her performance from celebrities and fans alike.

Vanessa rose to fame 11 years ago when she was cast as Gabriella Montez in High School Musical.
