A sizeable puddle in Newcastle has somehow become an Internet sensation!

Situated at Dummond Central near Newcastle University, an anonymous person has posted a live video on Periscope of people using a variety of techniques to cross the water barrier - often with hilarious results!

Although the Puddle Watch has now finished at its peak almost 20,000 were watching the puddle live!

Incredibly, the hashtag #DrummondPuddleWatch was also the second top trending topic on Twitter across the globe.

Highlights from the coverage included a man using a lilo and surf board to cross it, many people striding through it catwalk-style and the slippery surface sign that keeps getting removed.
