The Voice UK fans shocked to learn Tom Jones' REAL name

The Voice UK viewers were left shocked to the core over the weekend when legendary singer Sir Tom Jones revealed that's not actually his real name!

After a girl with the surname Woodward auditioned during the episode on Saturday 8th February, Tom revealed his real name is in fact Thomas Jones Woodward, and not Tom Jones as the world knows him.

Following Tom's announcement, viewers of the ITV show were quick to take to Twitter to express their shock, one user wrote, 'First time watching the voice and I find out Tom Jones’ last name isn’t jones it’s Woodward. life is a lie.' (sic)

Another fan with the surname Woodward then joked, 'Just found out Tom Jones as the same second name as me? Right I’m doing my family free and getting an inheritance ASAP x'. (sic)

And it appears Tom's fellow judges were just as surprised, with Olly Murs saying, "I never knew that!" with will.i.am adding, 'Tom Woodward?!'. (sic)

Of course, a number of celebrities across the world of music, film and TV like to change their names when they become famous, including the likes of Miley Cyrus, Calvin Harris and Rihanna.

Tom, who is known for hits like 'Sex Bomb', 'Delilah', and 'Not Unusual', changed his name under the direction of industry manage Gordon Mills when he first discovered Tom.
