She can't drive or wash herself

Actress Tina Hobley has spoken about the life changing injuries she suffered during an accident on Channel 4’s The Jump earlier in the year.

Tina, who is best known for her role on Holby City, has revealed she is unable to drive, dress herself or even wash her own hair since suffering the horrific injuries on the show. During training for the show, Tina broke her arm in two places, popped her elbow out of the socket, injured her shoulder and ruptured her anterior cruciate ligament in her knee.

Speaking about the horrific injuries, Tina said “For much of the year I haven’t been able to drive, dress, wash my hair or have a bath unaided. My daughter has had to help me put my clothes on and for months at a time I haven’t been able to take the kids to school, run errands, or do any of the things I love like yoga, cycling or walking any kind of distance.”

The 45-year-old went on to admit her injuries have had a ‘huge impact’ on her life and her family.

Revealing her injuries were worse than first thought, Tina still isn’t finished treatment and is due to have an operation on her knee later in the month.

The actress also had a chance to land a role in the hugely anticipated new series of Broadchurch, but has since had to pull out due to the extent of her injuries. Speaking about the disappointment she said “I was gutted because a meeting for my dream job, in the drama series Broadchurch, came up just after the injury. I couldn’t make it because I was in plaster. I had been waiting two years for that meeting.”

Tina wasn’t the only contestant on The Jump to suffer injuries. Unbelievably the winter sports show, hosted by Davina McCall, saw many stars pull out of the third series due to injury. Olympic swimming legend Rebecca Adlington injured her shoulder, Beth Tweddle fractured two vertebrae and Made In Chelsea star Marc Francis fractured his ankle.

It may be controversial decision, but Channel 4 have recently announced that the show will be returning for a fourth series later in the year.
