Thousands of young girls descended upon London over the weekend to audition for the Harry Potter spin-off Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them.

Female hopefuls aged 8 to 12 were invited to audition for the role of Modesty who the casting directors describe as “a haunting young girl with an inner strength and stillness.”

As expected the turnout at the Excel in London was ridiculously strong with literally thousands of girls showing up with their family in tow.

The eventual winner will star alongside Oscar, Golden Globe and BAFTA winner Eddie Redmayne who plays the lead role of Newt Scamander in the prequel.

Based on J. K. Rowling’s 2001 book of the same name, Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them takes place seventy years before the first Harry Potter movie and is set in New York.

J. K. Rowling is involved in the project while David Heyman, who produced all the Harry Potter movies, has also been drafted in.

The first of a Harry Potter spin-off trilogy, the film is scheduled for release on 18th November across the globe in 3D and IMAX.
