Taylor Swift accused of endangering wildlife at music video shoot

Environmentalists are concerned

Conservationists in New Zealand have accused Taylor Swift of endangering rare birds while shooting a music video.

The singer apparently got permission to take two vehicles to film on a beach near Auckland, which is home to the critically endangered New Zealand dotterel.

But it's claimed that her crew actually took around a dozen vans and 4x4s.

Environmentalists are concerned as it's thought there's around 1,700 of the birds in the country. As the birds nest on the beaches it means the nests can be destroyed by people walking on them, dogs and cars.

The film company Cherokee Films, who're local, have since apologised and said it's not the 'Shake It Off' star's fault.

"Taylor Swift and her management team were in no way at fault and did not do anything that violated permits or ordinances."

Taylor Swift recently finished her 1989 World Tour.
