Stephen Fry has announced he’s leaving QI saying ‘it’s time to move on’.

The actor is stepping down as the host of the BBC comedy quiz show after 13 years, adding that it was "one of the best jobs on television".

Replacing him will be writer and broadcaster Sandi Toksvig who shared the news this morning on Twitter.

On QI's Twitter page they said they'll miss 'our beloved Stephen Fry' but are excited about the new host.

Resident panellist Alan Davies will stay on the programme.
