Star Wars Episode VII Cast Announced!

Some familiar faces will be making a return in the 2015 movie

The cast for the eagerly anticipated Star Wars: Episode VII has been officially revealed.

In an announcement on starwars.com, it’s been confirmed that original cast members Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew and Kenny Baker will all be making a welcome return.

Joining them are British stars John Boyega, Daisy Ridley and Andy Serkis – best known for playing Gollum in the Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit trilogies.

Also in the movie are Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Domhnall Gleeson, and Max von Sydow.

The announcement came with the above photo of the cast and writers sitting in a circle of sofas deep in discussion.

Director J.J. Abrams says: "We are so excited to finally share the cast of Star Wars: Episode VII.

“It is both thrilling and surreal to watch the beloved original cast and these brilliant new performers come together to bring this world to life, once again.

“We start shooting in a couple of weeks, and everyone is doing their best to make the fans proud.”

Legendary composer John Williams will be scoring the movie, which hits cinema screens across the globe on 18th December 2015.
