Speaking exclusively to In:Demand Showbiz, Sam Smith has categorically denied he’s singing the theme song to the new James Bond movie Spectre.

Ever since Spectre was announced at a press event at Pinewood Studios in December, speculation has been rife about who’s following in Adele’s footsteps and will be singing the theme.

One of THE big global success stories of the past couple of years, Sam Smith has unsurprisingly been heavily linked to the prestigious honour.

However, in a fresh interview, he told our very own Jo Parkerson he definitely isn’t involved.

“I’ve got to tell you, it’s the funniest thing just to sit back and watch everyone confirming something I know nothing about,” Sam laughed.

“I’ve heard loads of rumours, I would have loved to have done it but I’m definitely not. It’s going to be a great film though – I’ve seen the trailers and it looks amazing. I love Bond.”

Asked about who he thinks should perform it, Sam responded: “I don’t know, Ellie Goulding? Sia would be sick but she’s not British. I think you’ve got to have someone who’s British.”

Adele’s powerful title track for 2012’s Skyfall won an Academy Award for Best Original Song plus a Grammy, BRIT Award and Golden Globe Award.

Starring Daniel Craig as Bond and Christoph Waltz as villain Franz Oberhauser, Spectre hits UK cinemas on 6th November.
