The film is based on a true-life romance
Our Entertainment Team spoke to Rosamund Pike and David Oyelowo about the release of their new film, the inspiring story of a real-life romance, A United Kingdom.
A United Kingdom celebrates the inspiring real-life romance of Seretse Khama, King of Bechuanaland, and Ruth Willliams, a London office worker.
David Oyelowo, who plays Seretse, reveals that it was the cover image of Susan Williams' book about the couple, 'Colour Bar', which first truly impacted him.
"I had grown up on period dramas, always loved them, but never saw anyone who looked like myself in them."
David explains that for him, this is a film that everyone can relate to: a love story.
