After #DrummondPuddleWatch broke the internet yesterday when around 20,000 people were glued to a live Periscope stream of a puddle in Newcastle upon Tyne, one ingenious passer-by decided to bottle it up.
Placing the bottled puddle water on Ebay, the user listed the item as ‘Drummond PuddleWatch 600ml Water Bottle #drummondpuddlewatch’ with a starting price of 99p. Unbelievably after just a few hours of the ‘most famous puddle water’ being up for sale, the price started to rise and is now up to an astonishing £65,900.
After phenomenal interest, the user has now decided to give 90% of the auctioned profits directly to the Cumbrian Community Foundation who are helping local people deal with the recent UK floods.
