Prince Harry shares emotional moment with wounded U.S Marine

After a charity walk for wounded soldiers

Prince Harry has been given a gift so precious, he initially refused to take it.

The 31-year-old, who was in the British Army, is known for his charity work with people who have served in the Armed Forces. So one woman decided to reward the man who she calls a ‘dear friend and a genuine advocate for our militaries’.

Kirstie Ennis, a sergeant in the US Marines, was injured in a helicopter crash in 2012. Now she raises money for the charity 'Walking with the Wounded' which helps soldiers who’ve been injured.

She’d completed the 1,000 mile Walk Of Britain for the charity – apparently even delaying her leg amputation to take part. Every 40 miles she’d leave a poem or note but saved the most significant mark until last.

When she met the Prince at Buckingham Palace she handed him the dog tags of fallen soldier KIA Cpl TJ Baune, who was killed by a bomb in Afghanistan. Realising the importance of it, it’s reported Harry refused at first saying “no I can’t. I can’t accept this”.

Kirstie insisted and in repayment visited one last place, Princess Diana’s Memorial Fountain.

Prince Harry ended his 10-year miltary career in June to focus on charity work.
