Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby shocked the nation when they turned up to present This Morning drunk earlier this year and now the presenter has opened up about it for the first time.
The popular presenter admitted himself and Holly ‘crossed the line’ on the memorable episode, despite most viewers finding the funny side.
Clearly enjoying themselves after winning a National Television Award, Phill and Holly turned up to work still hungover and had to apologise to viewers, saying “We’re in a mess. We can only apologise. We celebrated on behalf of every one of you.”

Phillip has now opened up about the iconic TV moment saying “That’s not a stunt we’d pull lightly, although we didn’t know we were doing it in the first place, it just sort of happened.
“I like to think we know where the line is. I do agree that we may have crossed the line, but it was a one-off.”
The 54-year-old also admitted he has never done anything of the sort before. He said “In all my time in TV, I’ve never done that before, I’ve done it hungover but I’ve never done it in that state.”

Fortunately for Phillip and Holly, producers of the popular daytime show found the whole thing rather amusing and vowed to never let the pair live the moment down.
