Paul McCartney tops musicians rich list with £730million fortune

Adele and One Direction also feature

Beatles legend Sir Paul McCartney has been named the UK and Ireland’s richest music star with an estimated wealth of £730million.

Thanks to royalties and the continued success of his Out There world tour, the Liverpool born musical icon’s bank balance has swelled an extra £20million in the past year.

Further boosting his fortune, his American heiress wife Shevell also has a £150million stake in her family’s trucking business.

Sir Paul’s £730m puts him well ahead of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s £650 in the Sunday Times Rich List.

Set to be published in full on Sunday (26th April), the newspaper’s countdown consists of the 1,000 richest people in the UK and the 250 wealthiest in Ireland.

Other stars in the music rich list include U2, Sir Elton John, Sir Mick Jagger, Ringo Starr and Roger Waters.

For the third year on the bounce, 26-year-old Adele Adkins has been named the highest earning music millionaire under the age of 30 with an estimated £50million in the bank.

One Direction and former member Zayn Malik are believed to be worth £25million each, while 22-year-old Sam Smith has earned an incredible £12million since breaking through.
