He also speaks about his own X Factor return

Olly Murs has heaped huge praise on X Factor winner Ben Haenow calling him a “genuinely top guy.”

The Essex singer performed at The X Factor final for the first time since his breakthrough on the show in 2009 on Sunday night duetting with Demi Lovato on their track ‘Up’.

After hanging with Ben Haenow backstage, Olly had nothing but good things to say about the former van driver from Croydon.

“Congratulations to Ben, he’s a great lad,” Olly told In:Demand’s Stu Tolan.

“He’s been a really genuine top guy and I know a couple of guys that work on the show – Ian James who I wrote my album with who does all the vocal coaching on the show, I was out with him the other night and he was saying (Ben) is a genuinely top guy.

“I think it was a really tough weekend (at the X Factor final) and there were some really good performances but I think he was just that little bit better. I think he deserved it and I’m looking forward to seeing what he does next.”

The download and CD version of Ben Haenow’s debut single ‘Something I Need’ are both out now and it’s a firm favourite for the festive top spot.

As always with The X Factor winners’ single, 100% of profits will go directly to charity – this time the children’s charity Together for Short Lives.
