As any One Direction fan will know, Niall Horan is a big fan of Derby County, so it seems fitting that he congratulated the team this week, after they beat West Bromwich Albion at home 4 - 1. In a tweet posted on Wednesday he said, 'Oh yeah @dcfcofficial are a dream to watch play .' sic

Which prompted a fan to respond asking the One Direction singer to 'send @LUFC A bit of luck ⚰😂', tagging in Leeds United Football Club. However, the singer replied saying, 'No one likes Leeds'. And, whilst the tweet has attracted over 12,000 likes, it seems his comments didn't go down too well with Leeds United!

Responding to Niall's jokey comment, the football club hit back saying, 'No one likes your solo career #BringBack1D'. Awks!

However, despite the tweet, One Direction fans have come to Niall's aid and shown their support for their idol tweeting comments such as, 'No one likes y’all, try again next time hun. Niall’s solo career is better than anything y’all could ever accomplish.' and 'LOL how easy is it to wind up Leeds fans. Well said Niall, they won't even be top come 3pm Saturday. 😂' sic. Another fans just responded, 'Ha hahaahaha Niall!!' sic

Of course there were some Leeds United fans who tweeted their support for the football club too saying, 'We all love Leeds we all love Leeds' and another saying, 'No one likes Derby'.

Now take a look at One Direction through the years:

Despite Leeds United's comments, Niall has been very successful as a solo artist since One Direction started their hiatus back in January 2016. He's just celebrated one year since the release of his debut solo album 'Flicker' and he has had a number of sold out gigs around the world.

Last month, while on his 'Flicker' World Tour, Niall melted our hearts with the cutest performance of 'Slow Hands', with a young fan who he invited on stage. Taking to the stage in front of his adoring fans Niall noticed a little girl, called Jade, holding a pink sign which read, 'CAN I DANCE WITH YOUR SLOW HANDS'.

On spotting the sign, Niall promptly invited the youngster on stage and finished his performance of the song holding her hand. Cute!

Meanwhile, when it comes to One Direction there have been countless rumours that they could be due to reunite, this follows a number of cryptic posts from Liam Payne. Uploading a photo of himself, Louis Tomlinson, Zayn Malik, Niall Horan and Harry Styles from the beginning of their incredible journey as One Direction, Liam simply captioned the snap, '1000 days'.

However, he later addressed this rumour whilst in Australia, telling celebrity website Pedestrian, "I think I have been asked that question more than any other band member. I don’t know why people think I am like the spokesman at the moment. I am like Captain America answering all the questions."

Although a full reunion might be far off, a mini reunion between Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson is due to happen this evening (26th October) for charity. The One Direction pair will appear on a very special edition of the programme for Channel 4's Stand Up To Cancer.
