Emily Atack leads tributes as CBBC star Mya-Lecia Naylor dies suddenly aged 16

Tragic news this morning as it's been confirmed that CBBC star Mya-Lecia Naylor has died suddenly at the age of just 16. Mya-Lecia, who has appeared on shows such as Millie Inbetween and Almost Never, was described as a “huge talent” by TV bosses following her tragic death.

Although the cause of death has not yet been confirmed, Mya-Lecia's agent, A&J Management, revealed it happened after the youngster collapsed.

CBBC revealed the sad news on their website this morning (Thursday 18th April), writing, 'We are so sorry to have to tell you that Mya-Lecia, who you will know from “Millie Inbetween” and “Almost Never” has, very sadly, died.

'Mya-Lecia was a much loved part of the BBC Children’s family, and a hugely talented actress, singer and dancer. We will miss her enormously and we are sure that you will want to join us in sending all our love to her family and friends.'

A&J Management then added, 'It is with the deepest sorrow we have to announce that on Sunday, 7 April, Mya-Lecia Naylor, very sadly, died. Mya-Lecia was hugely talented and a big part of A&J. We will miss her greatly. Our love and thoughts are with all her family and friends at this difficult time.'

Following the tragic news, a number of celebrities and Mya-Lecia's co-stars have paid tribute the actress, showing their love for her.

Emily Atack wrote on Instagram, 'So shocked and sad to hear about lovely Mya-Lecia Naylor. She was a beautiful and talented girl. A complete joy to be around on the set of Almost Never. Sending all my love to her family & friends. Rest in peace beautiful girl x'. sic

Game Of Thrones star Nathalie Emmanuel then wrote, 'She was a part of the @aj_management family who represent me in the UK. Although I did not know her personally, I wanted to send my condolences to her family, friends and colleagues at this difficult time.'

Mya's Millie Inbetween co-star added, 'Rest in peace Mya-Lecia Naylor. The Millie Inbetween cast is like a family to me and the show has such a special place in my heart. Mya was a great friend and I'm so lucky to have known her. We are heartbroken. Thank you for all the messages & I'm sending love to Mya’s family❤️'. sic
