Model reveals she was dropped by agency at 15 because her ‘hips were too big’

A plus sized model has received support from fans after revealing she was dropped from a modelling agency because her ‘hips were too big’ when she was just 15-year-old.
Now 25-years-old, Iskra Lawrence appeared on This Morning and left presenters James Martin and Anita Rani in total shock when she revealed the cutthroat modelling agency led her to believe her body shape wasn’t right.

Opening up on the show she said “I aspired to be like models I saw in the media who were straight and thin. I tried to change as I thought I had to be slim to be a model. I took drastic measures, I was young and I didn't know what healthy was. But when I got down to a size 8, I was unhealthier than I am now.”
Admitting she spent years ‘battling’ with her body confidence, Iskra also admitted “I have spent years battling with my body. Seeing it altered after photoshoots made me have body image issues. I would see my legs had been slimmed down, my arms were half the size, my skin was smooth, and that made me think there was something wrong with those things”.
After her revelation, viewers of the show were quick to show their support for the model on social media.
The 25-year-old has now found fame by sharing un-edited pictures of herself to her 2.4 million Instagram followers. In a recent post Iskra showcased the difference a '10 minute Photoshop' can have on an image.
Urging viewers not to seek an ideal figure, the model said people should celebrate their own assets. She said “'We are constantly told this is beauty and this is how a woman has to look to be happy with themselves. We have to unlearn bad habits. When you look in the mirror, don't pick out your flaws but celebrate the things you love about yourself.”
