Miley Cyrus was rushed to hospital yesterday after suffering an allergic reaction to antibiotics.

The singer was due to play a sold-out show at the Sprint Center in Kansas City but was forced to cancel at the eleventh hour.

A statement on the arena’s website read: "Cyrus has been hospitalized for a severe allergic reaction to antibiotics and has been placed on medical rest by her doctors. She will not be able to perform as scheduled."

21-year-old Miley later tweeted an apology to her Kansas fans, writing: "Kansas I promise I’m as (heartbroken) as you are. I wanted so badly 2 b there 2night. Not being with yall makes me feel s**ttier than I already do.”

She then posted the above pic with the message: “Mr. Octopussy & some amazing Drs are taking good care of me.”

Clearly getting a bit fed up five hours later, she added: “mizzzzzeraaabbblleeee.”

It’s currently unclear whether the Kansas show will be rescheduled for a later date.

Last night’s cancellation is the latest in a string of unfortunate events to hit the extensive North American leg of Miley’s Bangerz Tour.

Earlier this month a gig in Charlotte, North Carolina was axed due to illness and in Boston Miley broke down in tears performing Fleetwood Mac’s ‘Landslide’ when dedicating it to her beloved pet pooch Floyd who had sadly passed away.

There was also drama last month when a Bangerz tour bus carrying Miley’s mother Tish and sister Noah erupted into flames. Thankfully all passengers and the driver had vacated the bus and no one was injured.

A huge commercial success, The Bangerz World Tour has attracted criticism from some over Miley’s sexualised on stage antics.
