9 years after the release of ‘The Bourne Ultimatum’, Matt Damon is back with his new film ‘Jason Bourne'. The film took $60 million at the box office during its opening weekend and even though it's a high-intensity action film, we couldn't help but be shocked when we found out how few words Damon actually says.

It's been revealed that Damon's character only speaks 288 words in the entire film!

It seems that this has been true for a few of the Bourne movies now. Speaking to The Insider Damon said, "It never occurred to me that I didn't have a lot of lines." He went on to say "Each movie, I think I've spoken progressively less, and this one, the least."

He then added, "For any young actor out there, they should know that it's not the number of lines you have, ever."

The movie picks up 10 years after Jason Bourne walked away from the CIA, who trained him to become a deadly weapon. He is drawn out of hiding to uncover new truths about his past. The film sees the return of Julia Styles as Nicky Parsons and features Alicia Vikander as Heather Lee and Tommy Lee Jones as CIA Director Robert Dewey.

So far, as well as being a Box Office success, the film has been well received by critics so it seems that there really is more to telling a story than words.

With Damon rumoured to have been paid around $25 million (£18 million) for the film then that works out at around $86,000 per word.

But just so you’re aware of how short 288 words is, that’s the length of this article.
