Mark Ronson’s funk-tastic single with Bruno Mars, ‘Uptown Funk’, has been rush-released after Fleur East sensationally covered it on The X Factor.

Despite the fact the song hadn’t even been released yet, Fleur covered the song on Saturday night and stole the entire show with her pulsating performance.

All four judges gave Fleur a standing ovation and her mentor Simon Cowell hailed it as “one of the top three performances in X Factor history.”

Immediately after the show, Fleur shot straight to the top of the iTunes chart in the UK and stayed there until Monday.

The instantaneous success of the song prompted Mark Ronson’s label Columbia to unleash the download five weeks ahead of its scheduled release date.

Incredibly, at the time of writing, Mark Ronson’s original is number one on the iTunes chart, while Fleur’s version is in second spot.

‘Uptown Funk’ is lifted from Mark Ronson’s “feel-good funk inspired” fourth studio album ‘Uptown Special’ which is released next year.

Bookmakers’ favourite Fleur goes head-to-head with Andrea Faustini and Ben Haenow in The X Factor live final this weekend.

Whoever wins The X Factor is firm favourite for the Christmas number one spot.
