Liam Gallagher backs campaign to get tragic band Viola Beach to number one
The manager and band members died in a crash over the weekend.
Liam Gallagher is backing a campaign to get British band Viola Beach’s single to number one, after the four musicians and their manager tragically died in a crash.
The former Oasis singer took to Twitter to encourage fans to buy the song.
It comes after the family of the band’s manager, Craig Tarry, spoke out about losing him and asked fans to go and buy the band’s music.
His dad Colin reportedly said "It's just a tragic loss. I just don't want them to die in vain. Go out there and buy their records. Let's get them to number one."
Singer Kris Leonard, guitarist River Reeves, bassist Tomas Lowe, drummer Jack Dakin and Craig died in a crash near Stockholm in Sweden after a gig.
Their song ‘Swings and Waterslides’ has entered the top 40 in the UK charts and reached number two in the iTunes chart.
Communion, their record label, has confirmed that the money from the sale of the song will go to the families.
