Holly Willoughby has spoken out about the 'horrific' incident that happened on This Morning earlier this year.

If you cast your minds back to Phillip Schofield's birthday - April 1st to be exact - you'll remember the fashion and makeover segment where a lady who was celebrating her wedding anniversary and attending her school reunion appeared on the show.

Things turned awkward very quickly when she broke down in tears and made it clear she wasn't a fan of her transformation.

Check out: Everything Holly Willoughby has worn this week

TUESDAY 3 May

Today Holly has opted for a smart casual look. She's wearing a blue floral ruffle top, black trousers and black heels. What we're loving about this outfit is that you can dress it up with heels like Holly, or keep it casual with trainers. Holly's outfit costs more than £150 but we've found a high street dupe...

What Holly is wearing:
Ditsy floral contrast broderie ruffle blouse, Warehouse, £69.
Clara trousers, Sezane, £95.

Where you can get Holly's look for less on the high street:
From New Look you can recreate Holly's entire outfit for less than £40...

WEDNESDAY 4 May

It's Wednesday and again Holly has opted for a smart/casual outfit. She's paired a white shirt, green midi skirt and nude heels together. Again this is a great outfit if you're heading into the office or going out for lunch with the girls. Holly's outfit is on the pricer side, so we've found a similar look that'll save you some cash...

What Holly is wearing:
Pure Collection linen shirt, John Lewis, £85.
Suede wrap skirt, Jigsaw, £285.

Where you can get Holly's look for less on the high street:

THURSDAY 5 May

It's Thursday and for her final look of the week, Holly is wearing a blue and white floral dress. The This Morning presenter looks gorgeous and we're loving this dress. We're not the biggest fan of the £200+ price though, so we've found a high street dupe.

What Holly is wearing:
Fellini blue and cream tropical print cotton shirt dress, L.K. Bennett London, £299.

Where you can get Holly's look for less on the high street:
From Forever Unique you can recreate Holly's outfit for less than £60...

Then Holly and Phil tried to cheer her up and send her out for a fancy lunch in London but the car crashed. The TV presenters were stunned and just before they cut to an ad break, Phil revealed that it was actually all a big Aprils Fools.

Poor Holly.

Now, she's spoken out about that incident at This Morning Live and admitted it was a 'horrific' experience.

"Phil’s birthday is April Fool’s Day, so it’s in his head. He never forgets. Me, however; I’m completely oblivious. I didn’t even think about it.

"We had this makeover item with this lovely called Carol. She wanted to feel really special, we had our experts there. It was a legit makeover like we do all the time."

Phil continued: "Everybody knew it was a gag apart from Holly. We purposely hadn’t told Holly that she was an actress and that everyone was in on it.

"Holly is incredibly gorgeous, sensitive an caring. I’ll explain the tail end of this because it makes me look like a complete swine. I knew about it and we had a second gag which involved me having to get them into a car."

Holly went on to recall exactly how she felt during the Aprils Fools that she had no idea was happening.

“The panic inside was just awful; it was horrible. In my ear everyone was telling me stuff to do. On the autocue it said 'if you’d like to get involved with one of our amazing makeovers…' It was so well done."

Bless her.

Hopefully she'll be able to get Phil back another time.
