Harry Styles, Alan Carr & Joey Essex are among the big winners at the second annual Heat Twitter Awards!

Now in its second sensational year, the heat magazine’s prestigious Twitter Awards honours the very best celebrity users of the social networking site.

Voted for entirely by the heat readers themselves, over 10,000 people cast their vote and 14million Tweets have been made to whittle down the winners.

One Direction’s Harry Styles and Liam Payne triumphed in the Best Popstar and Kick-Off Artist categories, while their close chum Ed Sheeran won the Friendliest title.

Alan Carr was named Best TV Personality, Joey Essex won the dubious title of most Selfie-Obsessed and comedian Jack Whitehall triumphed in the Funniest category.

A clearly elated Joey Essex said: “I want to thank the queen, my dad, the Kardashian family, the lord and obviously god – I’ve prayed a few times recently and he must’ve helped me.

“I didn’t think I was that good at selfies but I’m obviously better than I thought. Selfies are something I love to do and winning this from heat – my favourite magazine - is amazing. I’ll never regret it. This is going to be with me forever.”

Elsewhere, the hilarious @Queen_UK was hailed the Best Parody Account. Her Maj said: “Dear Heat readers of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. In more than sixty years as your gracious and undoubted Sovereign, this surely is the greatest honour.

“As Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother used to say, ‘Have a gin on One’. Your Queen loves you.”

!Lucie Cave, Editor-in-Chief, heat, said: “What a pleasure it’s been to celebrate all the rants, tantrums and especially all the LOLz of our favourite heat celebrities on Twitter this past year.

“And the reader’s feedback has been amazing – they have voted for our Awards in their millions.

“The only thing we couldn’t let them vote on was where the award winner was so obvious, such as James Blunt snaring The King of Twitter Chat - his Twitter zingers to his haters were so good that we almost bought his new album. Almost.”

The full list of winners will appear in this week’s heat, on sale June 3.
