Coronation Street actress Georgia Taylor has taken to Twitter to express her anger at a fan who asked her for a selfie as she waited to see her doctor.

Georgia, who plays the role of Toyah Battersby in the ITV soap, revealed she'd been called 'rude' by the fan after she declined a photo in the waiting room.

Taking to her Twitter account to express her anger at the situation, Georgia wrote, 'Since when was it deemed acceptable to ask for selfies in the doctors reception? You have no idea what I’m here for and it’s completely inappropriate, but apparently I’M the ‘rude’ one for saying no... 🙄'. sic

Georgia's co-stars and fellow celebrities were quick to comment on the tweet, revealing awkward moments of their own.

2017 I'm A Celebrity contestant Shappi Khorsandi revealed she'd once been asked for a selfie as she attended a funeral, with Kym Marsh also expressing her shock.

Georgia's Corrie co-star and on-screen sister Jane Danson also replied adding, 'You are quite possibly the kindest soul i know. Maybe some people should stop and think how ‘rude’ they are? I’ll send Leanne round and that will show them rude 👊😘'. sic

After receiving tons of support from fans, Georgia sent out another tweet admitting they have all cheered her up. She wrote, 'Well thank you all so much for your replies to #selfiegate You’ve cheered me up no end 😀 And for those asking, I’m perfectly well thank you. Was just a routine thing ( but aggrieved Bristolian didn’t know that) Big love xxx'. sic

Meanwhile, in other Coronation Street news, viewers were left in complete shock during Monday night's episode when it was revealed that evil Pat Phelan survived his cliff fall on Good Friday.

Viewers witnessed Phelan taking refuge at a B&B under a false name, with Eileen and the rest of the cast thinking he'd left the cobbles for good.
