The first teaser trailer for the powerful upcoming movie Suffragette has premiered today.
As the title suggests, the Sarah Gavron directed film tells the important story of the ordinary British women at the start of the 20th Century who risked their very existence to campaign for the right to vote.
The film boasts a mightily impressive A-Lister cast including Carey Mulligan, Helena Bonham Carter, Anne-Marie Duff, Ben Whishaw, Brendan Gleeson and Meryl Streep as Emmeline Pankhurst.
Acclaimed filmmakers Pathé have released the trailer to coincide with the #votingmatters campaign ahead of the general election on 7th May.
The initiative is calling for all women to have their say and register before 20th April after 9million didn’t vote at the 2010 election.
Suffragette will open at UK cinemas on 30th October 2015.
