Mistaking David Beckham for Ricky Gervais – you might think it’s probably an unlikely thing to happen.
In a gym in LA, fans apparently queued next to an exercise machine for a chance to talk to the star of The Office and congratulate him for being picked to host the Golden Globes for a fourth time. However, it was actually ex-footballer David Beckham.
One source said that Beckham even became a little annoyed at being mistaken for a guy who is shorter and older than him, despite initially playing along with it.
They might both have a beard, but there’s 14 years difference between the two. Maybe the accent confused them?
However they seem to post similar pictures on Instagram...
The comedian is set to host the Golden Globes in 2016.
