Last month the cast for the stage show of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child was revealed to much surprise.

Noma Dumezweni, a 45-year-old black lady was announced as Hermione, the character who was previously played by Emma Watson in the film adaptations. While shortly after the announcement J.K. Rowling tweeted her approval of the new interpretation of her character, saying, 'Rowling loves black Hermione', it has taken until 2016 for Emma Watson to respond.

On the 2nd January Emma tweeted saying 'Can't wait to see Noma Dumezweni as Hermione on stage this year.' to which Noma responded 'Much appreciated. I look forward to experiencing #Hermione too.'

Based on a new, original story from J.K. Rowling Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is set 19 years after the original books. The play is split into two parts, beginning in July 2016 in London's Palace Theatre in the West End.
