Ed Sheeran, Sam Smith & Kasabian Triumph At The Q Awards

Ed Sheeran, Sam Smith and Kasabian were among the big name winners at the Xperia Access Q Awards in London this afternoon (22nd October).

Glastonbury headliners Kasabian took home two prestigious honours – Best Live Act and Best Band In The World Today – beating comeback Queen Kate Bush in both categories.

The unstoppable Sam Smith won the first award of the day, Best New Act, while Ed Sheeran was crowned Best Solo Artist.

Paolo Nutini who sadly couldn’t be at the Grosvenor House Hotel ceremony due to illness won Best Track for ‘Iron Sky’ and brooding Mancunians Elbow won the Best Album award for The Take Off And Landing Of Everything.

XL Recordings took home the Outstanding Contribution To Music for breaking big name acts including The Prodigy, The White Stripes, Dizzee Rascal and, of course, Adele.

Other winners at the Christan O’Connell hosted bash included Pink Floyd, Jamie xx, The Charlatans, Simple Minds and Johnny Marr.
