Ed Sheeran came face-to-face with his own wax figure at Madame Tussauds in New York yesterday (28th May).

Everyone’s favourite flame-haired acoustic-pop troubadour attended the unveiling of his waxy likeness and posed for selfies in front of the gathered media.

The wax figure depicts a serious looking Ed playing his trademark mini guitar while wearing a check shirt, jeans and Nike trainers.

Taking to Instagram after the press shoot, Ed said he was impressed with one particular physical aspect of the waxwork – the ‘bulge’ in its trousers.

He joked to his millions of followers: “Met my waxwork at Madame Tussaud, he didn't say much but he's got a bulge so it's all good.”

Speaking ahead of the unveiling ceremony, Ed said of the creation process: “They put you in grey underwear and a grey vest and you stand there for two hours as strangers poke you.”

He continued: ‘I’m excited for my parents to see it. I think it’ll be quite weird for me but I think for my parents to see what they created’.

At the actual unveiling, Ed said: “It’s so f** weird. They’ve even got my lazy eye in, it’s kind of pointing that way.”

Pharrell Williams, Olly Murs, Taylor Swift and Lionel Messi are among the celebrs who’ve had new waxworks unveiled this year.
