The photo posted on Instagram recently shows the 'Photograph' singer with a massive lion on his chest simply saying "Halfway and ouch".
No explanation yet for the choice of a lion has been given yet, but the post has attracted an number of comments, including some asking if it is Cecil, the lion that was brutally killed in Zimbabwe recently.
The tattoo is being inked by celebrity tattoo artist Kevin Paul who has worked on Ed before, in fact the pair go back quite some way, with Kevin even allowing the singer to tattoo him back in 2012 as the video below shows.
Ed already has a number of tattoos over his arms relating to various events and people in his life including single releases and his friends.
