EastEnders actress Lacey Turner has announced the wonderful news that she's expecting her first child with her husband Matt Kaye.

Lacey, who plays the role of Stacey Slater in the hit soap, announced her exciting news over the weekend, admitting it comes following two tragic miscarriages. Opening up to OK! Magazine, Lacey said, “I can’t wait to nurture our baby – we’ve dreamed of having a family for so long.”

Speaking about the couple's previous heartbreak, Lacey added, “When you’ve lost babies all you care about is the heartbeat, we’ve had about 12 scans. It felt like my whole world had fallen to pieces and there’s nothing you can do apart from try and put it back together.

“I blamed myself thinking that I’d done something wrong. I’d think, why me? What did I do? But, of course, I hadn’t done anything wrong – it’s all down to chromosomes and luck, really."

Lacey, who has also starred in the likes of Our Girl and True Love, also admitted that her EastEnders co-star Natalie Cassidy (Sonia Fowler), actually guessed that she was pregnant! She added, “I said I had something to tell her and she said: ‘Don’t bother, I already know. I can tell by your face!’"

Lacey married her childhood sweetheart Matt Kaye back in 2017, with the couple tying the knot in a private ceremony in Ibiza.

Sharing a black and white photo at the time, , Lacey wrote, '@bourhanbasmacouture thank you for another beautiful dress ❤️', as she posed in her incredible white dress.

The actress also shared another snap from her intimate ceremony, which showed herself and Matt looking very happy during the nuptials. Alongside the photo, Lacey wrote, '@sunnyramzan you beautiful human being ! Thank you for your lovely words and enchanting personality 💜🌈😘 @matty_overgrown @elliottibiza'. sic

Congratulations to Lacey and Matt on their lovely news! 👶
