Dua Lipa has taken to social media to stand alongside her fans after they were removed from her show in Shanghai last night. Dua Lipa was visibly shaken and horrified after some of her fans, who were waving flags in support of gay rights, were violently removed by security staff.

After the incident, Dua addressed what she had seen whilst performing her Number 1 hit with Calvin Harris, 'One Kiss', saying, "I want to create a really safe environment for us all to have fun. I want us all to dance. I want us all to sing. I want us all to just have a really good time."

Dua Lipa has now taken to Instagram to confirm that she stands alongside her fans, posting some photos from her concert with the caption, 'Last night I did it for my fans. A promised show. I stood by them, sang with them and danced with them. I will stand by you all for your love and beliefs and I am proud and grateful that you felt safe enough to show your pride at my show.

She continued, 'What you did takes a lot of bravery. I always want my music to bring strength, hope and unity. I was horrified by what happened and I send love to all my fans involved. I would love to come back for my fans when the time is right and hopefully see a room full of rainbows. I love you Shanghai xx'.

Many fans have now have taken to the comments section to support the singer saying, 'What happened in Shanghai sucks. But we stay strong because of you and the music' and 'although we witnessed such violence😭😭😭, but you did your best, we always love so much, wish we can party in a peace land next time'. sic

Despite this incident, Dua has had a very successful year, winning two BRIT Awards and having a Number 1 single with Calvin Harris. The pair released a great music video too, which saw Dua in a studio with various sunny backdrops, wearing some rather stunning outfits, including a sparkly, beaded outfit and a fitted purple suit.

Calvin Harris also made an appearance in the video looking very dapper wearing a suit, serving Dua a cocktail.
