Published 3rd Sep 2014

Dan Stevens, famous for playing Matthew Crawley in UK TV hit Downtown Abbey dropped in to speak to Jo Parkerson to chat about life since Downtown and his new film 'The Guest'.

Dan left Downtown Abbey in 2012 and since then he has been working on a variety of projects including Broadway show, 'The Heiress' in New York and a number of short films.

His latest venture to hit the big screen is 'The Guest' due for release on Friday and in this full interview we find out just what is in store for us.

Described as a very funny, but scary, thriller/black comedy this film is about David Collins (Stevens) a US solider, recently discharged who has been serving with a family's oldest son, Caleb. When Caleb dies, David steps in to help the family and appears to be the perfect houseguest, or is he?

In this interview Dan says this role was quite a departure from his Downton days and he enjoyed "being a real badass". He also told Jo about his future plans, including 'Night at the Museum 3' and a 'particular project' he is keeping his beard for.
