Come Dine With Me narrator steps in front of the camera and the viewers couldn't handle it

Come Dine With Me has become the staple diet of many who aspire to holding delicious dinner parties with their friends and for all of the 37 series that have aired the narrator Dave Lamb has been 'behind' the camera.
However in a twist to the original programme Dave, who has also narrated a special edition of Blue Peter and Big Brother was invited in front of the camera to host Come Dine With Me: Champions of Champions. This departure from the usual format was too much for some viewers who took to Twitter with comments such as: 'Is this real ?? Why am I seeing the come dine with me narrator in the flesh' and 'I did not expect the come dine with me narrator to look like he does.'
Instead of the usual dinner parties Come Dine With Me: Champions of Champions sees Dave hosting a meal with winners from previous series in 'his' country mansion, where he hopes to find the perfect dinner host.

Dave who normally sits in a dark voiceover booth joked on Twitter that it had been the first time he had been to work with his trousers on.
