Cheryl Fernandez-Versini "I coped in public and crumbled in private"
Cheryl explains what it was like finding out Ashley Cole had been cheating on her.
In a recent interview with InStyle magazine Cheryl Fernandez-Versini has said that she "I coped in public and crumbled in private" with the news that her then husband Ashley Cole had cheated on her.
Married in 2009, Cheryl filed for divorce just four years later after finding out the news.
Initially Cheryl stood by her husband despite many criticisms from her friends. In the interview she revealed that people who criticised her at the time have since apologised after they experienced similar circumstances.
She explained to the magazine, "a friend of mine told me her husband was having an affair and she said, 'I understand everything that must have been going through your head. But what I will never understand is how you had to face the world.'"
The 32-year-old singer is now married to Frenchman Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini and said that despite the fact she knows everyone wants to know about her private life "I am not going to say anything for my sanity".
