Canadian couple take 'Elf on the Shelf' to another level

Dad of four poses in unbelievable places around their home.

Elf on the Shelf has been taking social networks by storm as parents post photos of their elves.

Not to be outdone the Wynberg family from Canada went one step further.

It all started just after Thanksgiving when Megan Wynberg posted a photo of her husband dressed as an elf they decided to call FLE (pronounced flee).

Not only was he dressed as an elf, he was posing for the photo on top of a fridge!

(function(d, s, id) { var js, fjs = d.getElementsByTagName(s)0; if (d.getElementById(id)) return; js = d.createElement(s); js.id = id; js.src = "//connect.facebook.net/en_GB/sdk.js#xfbml=1&version=v2.3"; fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js, fjs);}(document, 'script', 'facebook-jssdk')); > So we finally caved and decided to do the "Elf on the Shelf" thing. The kids are going to be so surprised! We named our elf FLE and he will be in some pretty precarious spots over the next 24 days! Enjoy.> > > Posted by

As the days went on the locations for the daily photos got more and more bizarre, including being taped to the wall with gaffer tape and FLE doing 'snow' angels inside the house.

(function(d, s, id) { var js, fjs = d.getElementsByTagName(s)0; if (d.getElementById(id)) return; js = d.createElement(s); js.id = id; js.src = "//connect.facebook.net/en_GB/sdk.js#xfbml=1&version=v2.3"; fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js, fjs);}(document, 'script', 'facebook-jssdk')); > I brought in re-enforcement to get FLE the "Elf on the Shelf" under control.> > > Posted by

(function(d, s, id) { var js, fjs = d.getElementsByTagName(s)0; if (d.getElementById(id)) return; js = d.createElement(s); js.id = id; js.src = "//connect.facebook.net/en_GB/sdk.js#xfbml=1&version=v2.3"; fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js, fjs);}(document, 'script', 'facebook-jssdk')); > Because picking up after four kids isn't enough! FLE was pretty exited about the first snowfall of the year and I'm pretty sure he pee'd on the floor. I'm getting rid of this thing!> > > Posted by

Perhaps the strangest photo of all is the one of FLE on the rooftop appearing to go to the toilet down the chimney.

(function(d, s, id) { var js, fjs = d.getElementsByTagName(s)0; if (d.getElementById(id)) return; js = d.createElement(s); js.id = id; js.src = "//connect.facebook.net/en_GB/sdk.js#xfbml=1&version=v2.3"; fjs.parentNode.insertBefore(js, fjs);}(document, 'script', 'facebook-jssdk')); > So FLE has been trying to get in the house all day. Then I found him doing this. I may have to bring him back in before the neighbours call the cops.> > > Posted by

If you don't know about this Elf on the Shelf 'phenomenon', the 'tradition' is based on the popular kids book of the same name which tells children there is a scout elf watching them in the run up to Christmas. On Christmas Eve the elf returns to Santa to report back on whether the children have been good.

The book comes in a keepsafe box containing the book and an elf toy, something parents move around the house every day for their kids.
