Boyzone: 'One Direction Are Victims of Their Own Success'

Keith Duffy says 1D can’t even go for a quiet pint

Boyzone’s Keith Duffy believes that One Direction are so popular they’re victims of their own success.

Speaking to Entertainment! NOW, 39-year-old Keith says that 1D’s fame has reached such heights that they can’t enjoy the simple things in life like a pint down the pub.

“The success that One Direction have is so phenomenal right across the world I think at this stage now they’re victims of their own success,” Keith told us.

“They can’t even go for a quiet pint down the pub. I know Niall Horan the Irish guy in the band, they can’t go anywhere without their bouncers.”

Keith added: “There’s no point having all this success unless you’re allowed to enjoy it a little a bit. The boys have made it so big now that that’s very difficult for them.”

We met up with Keith and Ronan from Boyzone to celebrate the release of their new single 'Who We Are', lifted from their latest album ‘BZ20’.

Ronan also told us that Stephen Gately’s memory still lives within them and how he’s insanely jealous of Shane Lynch’s beard.
