A number of high profile celebrities and actors have reacted to Sony Pictures’ decision to pull The Interview from cinemas following terrorist threats.

James Franco and Seth Rogan’s movie is about a secret assassination attempt on North Korean supreme leader Kim Jong-un and was met with threats of “merciless action” from the country on America back in June.

Last month things stepped up when Sony Pictures Entertainment Computers were hacked by anonymous group Guardians of Peace, then earlier this week they threatened terrorist actions on cinemas showing the movie.

Sony’s decision last night to pull the Christmas Day release altogether has prompted many actors and filmmakers to have their say with many saying it’s a loss for freedom of expression.
