Ant McPartlin's estranged wife Lisa Armstrong has shown her support for Dec Donnelly after he announced the final two Ant & Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway shows will go ahead.

Lisa, who is a good friend of both Dec and his wife Ali Astall, liked a number of tweets about Dec's decision about the popular show.

The 41-year-old also liked Piers Morgan's tweet which wished Dec good luck. The tweet read, 'Good decision. Best of luck to Dec. Won't be easy but he's doing the right thing, as I'm sure Ant would agree.' sic

It comes after Dec broke his silence for the first time since Ant's arrest. Releasing a statement about the future of Saturday Night Takeaway, Dec wrote, 'Whilst I never thought I'd be in this position, after much discussion and careful consideration we've decided that the remaining two shows of this series of Saturday Night Takeaway will go ahead.

'We made a promise to take hundreds of deserving winners to Florida to watch the series finale, and we will honour that.

'Everyone at ITV and the Takeaway team feels we owe it to the audience to complete the series. Dec x' sic

After being arrested on suspicion of drink driving following an incident on Sunday afternoon, it was revealed last night that Ant has now been charged by the police. The TV Presenter is due to appear at Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court on April 4th.

Earlier this week, ITV released a lengthy statement revealing Ant would be stepping down from all TV duties as he prepares to go back to rehab.

It read, "Ant has decided to go back into treatment and step down from his current TV commitments. He has spoken with Dec and ITV today and asked for time off for the foreseeable future.

"ITV has taken a joint decision with Ant and Dec’s team not to broadcast Saturday Night Takeaway this weekend. We will be reviewing options for the last two episodes of the series which would not feature Ant who is taking time off to seek treatment. We very much hope that he gets the help that he needs."

After spending time in rehab in the summer of 2017 for a painkiller addiction, Ant announced in January that he would be divorcing his wife Lisa after 11 years of marriage.
