9-year-old Jacob Tremblay warmed everyone’s hearts with his sweet acceptance speech, after he won the title of Best Young Actor at the Critics' Choice Awards.

You might have thought that a child would be terrified of going on stage, especially in front of a celebrity audience.

But the Canadian youngster, who stars in Room, was very cool about it all. “This is the best day of my life” said the star.

He added: "I first want to say thank you to all the critics who voted for me. It must be a super hard vote because of all the other great actors in this category."

"I also want to thank Team Room… I think that us working together made this movie come true, and this award doesn't just go to me for that - it goes to all of you guys as well."

And where will he put the trophy? “On the shelf next to my Millennium Falcon” he said, which was received with a huge applause.

Watch his full acceptance speech below. Room is based on a book by Emma Donoghue which tells the story of a 5-year-old boy experiencing the world after he’s been kept in captivity with his mum.
