12 times Disney movies made us cry

The ultimate tear-jerkers...

Published 3rd Dec 2015

Ah Disney, we grew up with you, not only did you make us laugh and smile, you also made us cry. A LOT. Here's some of the most tear jerking moments...

Up!: This opening scene floored us.

FInding Nemo: Disney is never afraid to deal with death, and most movies deal with the loss of a parent. In this case we see Nemo's mum die so she can try and save her babies.

The Hunchback of Notre Dame: Quasimodo is being cheered on by the crowd, when suddenly it turns sour and the humiliated character gets things thrown at him. Even when he begs his master to make it stop, he’s ignored.

Frozen: Only true love can break spells right? In Frozen we’re so sad when Anna leaps in to save her sister from being killed and turns to ice. And it’s that act of true love which saved them both. This is a good one to remember when you’re fighting with siblings.

Monsters Inc.: At the end of Monsters Inc, our hearts sank when Sulley said a final goodbye to Boo and after he closes the door she skips to her closet expecting to see him again. But he’s gone. Then the tears start when Sulley finds her again…

Toy Story 3: This is the moment when some of us thought it was really the end for our favourite Toy Story characters. The toys become trapped and realising there might not be a way out, they all hold hands, ready to face the furnace.

Bambi: A classic tearjerker, little Bambi is exploring the grass underneath a blanket of snow when gunshots are fired. He’s told to not look back, but when he does he realises his mum isn’t there.

Aladdin: “Genie, you’re free!”, three words to give you goosebumps, especially the hilarious character was voiced by the late Robin Williams. Then there’s the heartwarming moment when the best friends admits they’re going to miss each other.

Big Hero 6: Tears sprung to our eyes when Hiro makes the difficult decision to lose Baymax forever to save Abigail. This is after he’s lost his big brother, too. Then Baymax says “Hiro, I will always be with you” and the tears don’t stop.

Pocahontas: That heartbreaking moment when Pocohontas could live forever with the man she loves, but stays with her family knowing they lead two very different lives. So much for happy endings! Beauty and the Beast: When we all think the Beast is dead, true love turns him into a prince for Belle..

The Lion King: When Mufasa dies.. just… we can’t talk about it. It’s still too painful.

Way. Too. Emotional!
