Barbie fever has been well and truly rife over the last month, with Greta Gerwig's movie surpassing over $1 BILLION at the box office, thanks to the brilliant displays by the likes of Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling.

And as Barbie and Ken continue to take over the world, it seems there could be a surge in the name Barbie in the coming months, as interest in the baby name has seen a monumental rise of 603% due to the movie's success.

Barbie isn't the only name to see a rise in searches, as according to Nameberry, searches for the name Ken have also gone up by 293%!

However, despite the recent rise in searches, Nameberry have stated they don't expect the trend to continue.

Speaking to People, Sophie Kihm from Nameberry said: “Barbie and Ken are piquing parents’ interest, but this doesn’t mean that will translate into actual usage. As of now, Barbie is a predominant Amish name.

“Barbie and Ken are both dated names that aren’t due to come back yet, so while there may be a slight bump from the movie, neither will be among the most popular baby names of 2023."
