The new Leader of the Welsh Conservative Senedd Group, Darren Millar, has announced his new shadow cabinet.

Darren Millar has said he wants to set out a "positive direction" after taking over as Welsh Conservative Group leader in the Senedd from Andrew RT Davies.

The Shadow Cabinet Appointments:

  • Paul Davies Smith is the Chief Whip and Shadow Cabinet Secretary for the Constitution and External Affairs
  • Sam Rowlands is the Policy Director and Shadow Cabinet Secretary for Finance
  • James Evans is the Shadow Cabinet Secretary for Health and Social Care
  • Samuel Kurtz is the Shadow Cabinet Secretary for Economy, Energy and Welsh Language
  • Natasha Asghar is the Shadow Cabinet Secretary for Education
  • Peter Fox is the Shadow Cabinet Secretary for Infrastructure, Transport and Rural Affairs
  • Joel James is the Shadow Cabinet Secretary for Children, Young People, Mental Health and Wellbeing
  • Laura Anne Jones is the Shadow Cabinet Secretary for Local Government, Housing and the Armed Forces
  • Janet Finch-Saunders is the Shadow Cabinet Secretary for Climate Change and Environment
  • Gareth Davies is the Shadow Cabinet Secretary for Culture, Tourism, Sport and North Wales
  • Altaf Hussain is the Shadow Cabinet Secretary for Equalities and Social Justice

Former Secretary for State of Wales, David TC Davies, has now been appointed as Chief of Staff of the Welsh Conservatives.

Senedd Committee Chair Appointments:

  • Russell George is the Chair of Health and Social Care Committee
  • Andrew RT Davies is the Chair of Economy, Trade and Rural Affairs Committee
  • Mark Isherwood is the Chair of Public Accounts and Public Administration Committee
  • Tom Giffard is the Co-Chair of the COVID-19 Inquiry Committee

Darren Millar said on X: "It’s now time for our party to unite and take the fight to our political opponents as we prepare for the Welsh Parliament elections in 2026"
