Fire crews have been tackling a blaze at a mid-terrace property in Tranmere, after an explosion earlier this morning (02/12).
We're told two people have been taken to hospital following the fire breaking out.
Emergency services were called to Holt Road around 07.42 this morning, with four fire engines in attendance.
As well as the Fire Service, teams from the Police, Ambulance and Wirral Council all attended, with a cordon put in place.
Properties at either side of the affected premises have been evacuated and gas and electricity has been isolated.
Wirral Council are arranging temporary accommodation for residents of evacuated properties.
The MFRS Search and Rescue Team (SRT) have been requested for structural monitoring equipment - with a structural engineer liaising with with colleagues about the integrity of the building, as well as the neighbouring houses being determined.
As of midday, we're told the incident has been "scaled down" to just two fire engines, although a multiple agencies still on the scene.
The advice is to avoid the area.
