New rules could see smoking BANNED in beer gardens - reports
The Government is reportedly considering new measures to curb smoking in Britain
The Government is reportedly considering banning smoking in pub beer gardens, on restaurant terraces and outside nightclubs and bars.
According to The Sun newspaper, ministers are currently looking at banning cigarettes from a range of outdoor venues, stretching to small parks and sports venues.
The Department for Health and Social Care has refused to comment on what it has called "leaks" but said they are considering a "range of measures" to make Britain smoke-free.
Labour is planning to resurrect a smoking ban first planned by Conservative Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, which was abandoned before the election.
The age at which people can buy cigarettes will increase year-on-year, meaning someone who is 14 today will never legally be able to purchase one.
It comes just a day after leading doctors with the British Medical Association called for a ban on all flavoured and disposable vapes.
