We had to wait an extra year due to the Coronavirus pandemic, but the UEFA European Football Championships kicked off in June, and Steve Clarke's Scotland team were taking part in their first major tournament since 1998.

After opening the campaign with a harsh defeat to Czech Republic, the Tartan Army gave a great performance to land a 0-0 draw against England, meaning everything was riding on that final group game against Croatia on Tuesday 22nd June.

Despite a hard-fought battle, Croatia won the game 3-1, meaning Steve Clarke's men finished bottom of Group D and therefore not qualifying for the round of 16.
