Police tape off Liverpool road after reports of 'man falling from building'

Officers were called to near Princes Dock in the early hours of Sunday morning

Part of Liverpool city centre is taped off after reports a man had fallen from a building.

Police were called to William Jessop Way near Princes Dock at around 5:40am on Sunday 2 June.

Officers are conducting enquiries to find out what happened, and there continues to be a police presence in the area.

The road remains closed with drivers urged to find an alternative route.

A Merseyside Police spokesperson said: "We can confirm that emergency services are currently in Liverpool city centre this morning, Sunday 2 June, following reports of a concern for safety of a man.

"The emergency services, including Merseyside Police, Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service and North West Ambulance Service, were called to reports that a man had fell from a buliding on William Jessop Way at around 5.40am this morning.

"Enquiries into the incident are ongoing and officers remain in the area to establish the full circumstances.

"A road closure is currently in place and motorists are advised to avoid the street. Thank you for your patience as we deal with this incident."
