31 year old Valdo Calocane is due in court today

A week on from series of devastating and unprecedented attacks in Nottingham, the city remains heartbroken.

19 year old University of Nottingham students Barnaby Webber and Grace O'Malley Kumar and 65 year old primary school caretaker Ian Coates were all stabbed to death in the early hours of Tuesday (13th June).

Wayne Birkett, Marcin Gawronski and Sharon Miller were then hit by a van, believed to have been stolen from Ian.

31 year old Valdo Calocane has been charged with triple murder, and three counts of attempted murder.

The 31 year old is remanded in custody, and is due to appear at Nottingham Crown Court later today (20th June).

TIMELINE

Medical student Grace O'Malley-Kumar, from Woodford in London, and history student Barnaby Webber, from Taunton in Somerset, were found fatally knifed on Ilkeston Road at around 4am.

Ian Coates was then found stabbed to death in Magdala Road after his van was allegedly stolen.

Calocane is alleged to have used the van to drive at a pedestrian in Milton Street and a further two people in South Sherwood Street.
