Police in Norfolk have confirmed that a man has died after being pulled from the River Wensum in Norwich.
Officers were called to the city centre on Thursday afternoon (March 28th) after reports that a man had been spotted in the river.
Responders arrived just before 4pm at Riverside Road to find the man in the river and requiring help to be lifted out.
Emergency services were called to the scene, including fire and rescue services - as well as ambulances and an air ambulance.
The man, who was aged in his 50s, was pulled from the river by emergency workers, but was later sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
Norfolk Constabulary has confirmed that the man's death is currently being treated as unexplained; however, officers do not believe there are any suspicious circumstances at this time.
Those working on the case have informed the next of kin of the man's passing, and a file into the man's death is being prepared for the coroner in due course.
